COMC - A collector’s paradise

Everybody wants to get a deal. Thats part of the hobby.

Although Ebay is a fun marketplace to find a bargain, to find a cool card, and maybe get lucky on an auction, I still think that COMC is a must have in any collector’s array of phone apps. When collectors want to pick up a stack of fun cards, COMC is a great option. Have you ever used their platform to look at, sell or purchase cards? The company not only offers consumers a platform to get a good deal but the navigation options on the site are also incredible. The amount of data that their company has organized categorizing cards is unparallel. In my opinion the best organized system of cards in the world. That is COMC. And as users we have access to it all. We can even make offers to sellers adding to the thrill of the deal. Back to the dopamine factor again.

This is a great example of some of the deals that one can find out there. The retro series Donruss definitely a must! Fun set for my PC and after grabbing the /99 parallel I can see what other parallels are out there to go for.

Not only does COMC allow for me to sift through cards and give me almost of feeling of rummaging through dollar boxes, but the site also allows me to adjust my search to find exactly what I am looking for. It allows me to compare with other sellers, it allows to me to really understand the supply levels of certain cards to another level.

The parameters for the search options are a collector’s dream. I can search for numbered cards and then search on all the parallels for that particular year and set. If I am out gold hunting, I can see all the available golds for a certain set, etc. It is simply put, very fun and also quite addictive as well. So, please COMC RESPONSIBLY.

Going to card shows and finding a few homeruns in dollar boxes is another animal, that feeling is dopamine at its finest, but a little COMC session now and then to wind down is always fun and also teaches me about the parallels for the cards. I guess it is a way to educate yourself on cards and pick up a few at the same time.

The downside to COMC is the time it takes to receive cards. Some people might like buying and selling on COMC, so they just buy and keep their cards stored in the COMC vault. For me, the intent is just to buy and receive my cards. I would say with the normal shipping option, anywhere between 30-50 days. I am learning to accept that is just the way it is and every month or two get a stack of carefully selected cards. So, when the cards do arrive it is fun to revisit the cards that I selected a month or so ago.

Suggestions for COMC? I would say maybe improve the time for shipping. It is easier said than done but for many people 30-50 days at the economic shipping option is just too long. There are faster shipping options but even at the economic rate, there shouldn’t be such a long wait.

I still think that COMC is an amazing way to learn and search through a library of cards. There are good deals on the app and bargaining is welcomed. Fun, fun and more fun!
